Ali and Cody’s love story is as sweet and quirky as their personalities. Some weddings here on the farm are romantic, some weddings are classy or rustic, but let me tell you what - Cody and Ali’s wedding was FUN!  With modern black and white details, wildflower whimsy and Taylor Swift themed elements scattered throughout, this wildflower wedding weekend fulfilled some of our wildest wedding dreams.

Ali actually attended our VERY FIRST wedding ever, back in 2019 (read all about it here). When she and Cody got engaged they were living in Alaska so she had her Mom and sister tour the barn and face-time her for the tour.

I came to the very first wedding here and LOVED the barn. This was before ever seeing the white pavilion that makes this place even more beautiful! We were deciding between an airbnb in Alabama (where we currently live) or being nice to our family members and coming to them. After my mom and sister face-timed me during the virtual tour choosing Arlington Acres was a no brainer. “ ~ Ali an AA Bride from Alabama

Their Wildflower Wedding Weekend

Ali and Cody knew each other for years before dating and falling in love, they actually had a marriage pact that if they were both single when they turned 30 they would get married!

Since Cody is in the military they planned their entire wedding from out of state and decided to book our two-day package so that they could really take their time and make a whole family weekend out of it.

We planned from Alaska and finalized from Alabama. From start to finish every single person we worked with and reached out to was so sweet and helpful. We feel SO lucky to have the venue we do and the vendors who are helping to make this day absolutely beautiful.” ~ Ali an AA Bride from Alabama

Friday - The Day Before

The whole gang arrived in the early afternoon on Friday the day before their wedding. It was the most gorgeous fall afternoon and they spent their time decorating.

Ali kept their decor modern black and white but with a touch of whimsy and lots of wildflowers. Proof that just because you have a fall wedding doesn’t mean you have to use traditional fall decor.

“It started as black and white and then about 30 days out I went completely rogue with wanting wildflowers and some color everywhere.” ~ Ali an AA Bride from Alabama

They ordered all their wildflowers in bulk from Trader Joe's & Flower Moxie and then did all the florals themselves using bud vases. It was such a great way for them really to get the bang for their buck since they had the extra time on Friday to decorate and it ended up being so cute!

Once they were finished with decor, they headed over to their hotel to get ready for rehearsal dinner. Their hotel was just a few minutes away which made it easy to run back and forth.

Once they got back, they rehearsed and then kept rehearsal dinner itself pretty low key and ordered pizza so as not to disturb their decor for the next day.

I HIGHLY recommend doing both days if you have the chance. It was a blast setting up all day and basking in how beautiful the venue is.” ~ Ali an AA Bride from Alabama

A Wildflower Wedding Day

Saturday arrived and with it a cold front that brought in an all day rain forecast. It didn’t impact wedding plans though because they had already opted to have their wedding ceremony in the historic barn before heading to the white pavilion for their wedding reception and dancing.

They spent the morning relaxing in the bride and groom rooms and just had a chill fun morning getting ready.

A favorite part for both of us were the bride and groom suites. There is a TON of mirror space for the girls, outlet plugs all over to accommodate the excessive amount of heating tools and phones we had plugged in, and gorgeous lighting for the makeup. The men had a nicely sized tv to accommodate for their football games that were on as well. 12/10.” ~ Ali an AA Bride from Alabama

The First Look

Ali and Cody chose to do a first look prior to their barn wedding ceremony, this allowed them to spend the entire evening with their guests once the wedding itself was over. It also gave them some extra time together before all the guests arrived. In their case, it was also helpful because it rained all day and they were able to utilize the whole venue for photos without having to navigate around guests.

Kind Words

“My husband and I recently had the opportunity to host our wedding ceremony and reception at Arlington Acres and it was nothing short of a dream come true (even with the lovely OH rain that did not let up).

For starters, Sarah and John are an absolute dream to work with. They were beyond helpful through the entire wedding process (we planned this from out of state AND with a 4 hour time difference) and they went above and beyond from start to finish. You can tell they genuinely love what they do and have put their entire heart into making this venue as gorgeous as it is.

We cannot recommend this venue ENOUGH! We absolutely loved it and know you will, too. We are still receiving compliments on how beautiful the venue is (and we wholeheartedly agree ;).” ~ Ali an AA Bride from Alabama
